About the Artist

Marlene Outlaw

funmirror_edited.jpg

Marlene is a native Texan. She has lived in Central Texas since 1984. As an artist in several mediums, Marlene found her passion in creating tile and stained glass mosaics. An exciting facet in Marlene's life is that she has reconnected with her high school sweetheart from Lubbock, Jim Outlaw and they were married in 2015. Amazingly, he too is a mosaic artist and together they are designing and producing custom mosaics. Click on the banner below to visit Jim's website.  Also,  Marlene has discovered the art of alcohol ink on ceramics, glass and metal. Be sure to visit each page of this website to see a wide variety of interesting art designed to create a focal point in any commercial or residential setting.

If you are interested in seeing her masterpiece mosaic in person, you can visit the Lost Pines Art Center 1204 Chestnut St, Bastrop, TX, to view the "Texas Butterfly " Mosaic. It is a sight worth seeing, measuring approx 10'6" x 6'4" located in the floor in the east gallery in that building.  Spoiler alert! Look for hidden objects in the background. We call them "Easter eggs" and everyone loves finding the dragon flies, bees and lizard.

You may also enjoy a historical tile mosaic in downtown Bastrop, located in the Frontier Bank of Texas building on Main Street. It is entitled "Bastrop, Past, Present and Future". It is located on the floor in the entryway to the bank building. It measures approximately 6' x 6'. See photo onTILE page for more detail.
